Although performing opening act duties with James Armstrong this time around, Big Boogaloo plays to packed rooms locally and afar. They have established a healthy following with their rock solid performances and instant dancability. Hear them once and you will be a fan.
Formed in January of 2004, in the little northern town of Kenora, this 'groove machine' has been cranking out the Blues infused Funk with no regard for the rhythmless dancer.Boogaloo calls on their influences from the Blues, Afro-Caribbean and Brazilian genres and mixes in hard hitting, in 'yo' face funk, to create their infectious sound. With Darcy Ura as Musical Director, Vocals/Guitar, Rob Lindstrom on Bass, Bob White on Sax, Rex Csuzdi on Percussion, Ken O'Neil on Drums/Vocals, and Laura Cotton on Vocals/Percussion, Big Boogaloo is not only a dance band extraordinaire but an experience for the soul. So jump up and give yourself up to the sound of BIG BOOGALOO.

Darcy Ura (Guitarist, Vocalist & Percussionist) is the musical director of Big Boogaloo. He sings in Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and English with soulful ease and brings the sounds of southern hospitality to his audiences everywhere he performs. Darcy's wide range of musical mastery is brought to the stage in the form of subtle stylings that audiences really dig.
Laura Cotton (Vocals) is the newest member of Big Boogaloo brings lyric inspiration to the band and entices crowds to follow her on a soulful journey. The classic sounds of Motown, infamous Jazz Queens and Rhythm and Blues' finest melt together as they float from her effortlessly. Keep an eye on this new and emerging talent!
Ken O'Neil (Vocals, Drums)brings drums out front where they belong and his powerful vocals cut through the Boogaloo's wall sound with full authority as he stirs your jungle soul with just one whack of the drum. If it's Ken drivin' the bus, you can be sure you will feel the need to shake yo' @ss!
Rex Csuzdi is the fiery conga/bongo mastermind in Big Boogaloo. He is a Lac Lu native and the region's best kept secret. Together with Boogaloo's hot rhythm section, the grooves keep grinding out and turning the dance floor into a frenzy of funk chitlins and love gravy!
Bob White is one of Northwestern Ontario's premier Blues and R&B saxophonists. He draws on 20 years of playing experience and has shared the stage with such acts as Trooper, Colin James, Lee Aaron, A.C. Reed, the Bad News Blues Band and Canadian blues icons, The Downchild Blues Band.
Rob 'Lippy' Lindstrom is no stranger to the professional music scene; he has been performing professionally for the past 30 years in Northwestern Ontario. Originally a guitarist, he discovered that the electric bass is where it's at! His jazz sensibilities come through in his playing as he set the stage for serious bumpin' and thumpin'!
